My parents came down right before Evie’s birthday and we all went to the zoo.
All of the tulips were out and it was gorgeous.
Michael with a little monkey on his shoulders.
Looking at the white tiger
and a little uneasy next to the siberian tiger. Only a piece of glass between them!
Waving “hi” to the gorilla …
… and the gorilla, slightly acknowledging us.
Evie loved getting pushed in the stroller.
A little owl, Gizmo, that we got to meet.
Silly girl wanted to cuddle with a bag of chips.
Happy girl 🙂
When she saw the lion, she growled.
She likes lions. We’ve called her our little Eve-lion ever since she was born.
Evie, me & Papa
Evie & her grandparents 🙂
Chimp & his mama.
We had such a wonderful day. Evie clearly enjoyed the zoo. We will definitely be going back frequently!

(but for real.)
We were in Toledo for Easter. Evie got her first visit from the Easter bunny … he brought yogurt melts, books & plastic eggs that wobbled.
Cuddling with her Papa.
Chris & Carley were there too 🙂
Chris taking it up a notch.
Carley, a notch higher.
aww, a nice pic of Carley & Todd. (hi Todd.)
Todd, our Christmas and Easter brother.
More Papa snuggles.
Love, looove this pic of me and Mom.

Don’t we all coordinate well? Not planned at all. Serious. I didn’t even realize Evie and I were both wearing navy with white polka dots until that morning.
So I’ll post one of these pics here, and the rest in a separate post. They’re that good.
I think Evie likes C+C.
Chris probably told a joke (note how he’s also laughing).
Back at home, that evening, posing with her bunny ears & the Easter basket grass.
Going to the park.
Always studying everything around her.
🙂 She loves all new bits of independence … crawling by herself on the playground included.
Peeking at Daddy.
Happy Easter, baby girl.

…of course, are the baby’s grandparents. You feel completely comfortable entrusting your baby to them for long periods, which is why most grandparents flee to Florida.” – Dave Berry
I have a hunch
that these grandparents
aren’t going to Florida anytime soon 🙂
(I love this picture)

We drove straight from Milwaukee to Toledo a few days after Christmas to see my parents. The next morning, Evie awoke to a very special gift from her Grandma and Papa. This rocking plane was mine when I was little, and my parents had it refinished. It’s absolutely beautiful & I can’t wait until Evie can have some real fun with it.
She also loved this rocking chair, which was also mine …it’s the perfect size! This will stay at Grandma & Papa’s and be her special chair.
Relaxing with Papa.
Rosie was very curious about this little person in the house.
It was also a white Christmas there in Toledo.
Sitting pretty with Grandma 🙂
Thank you for the wonderful Christmas memories, Mom & Dad! You made this a very special first Christmas for Evie.
